nZero, where were you? You signed up for the contest and even submitted samples, but vanished once things actually began. Sorry, was out of the country. I should put MPT or something on my laptop but I would have missed the submission deadline anyway probably. You sure? Then how would you try to pu...

While this is true, a car is still a relatively safe insulation due to the metal chassi that may catch at least most of the blast, if I recall correctly, protecting the insides of the car from it. It's not certain what way inside the car the lightning will take, 'course, but it's much safer to be i...
The Program Change command is for just that, switching which instrument is assigned to a particular MIDI channel. I'm not an Anvil Studio user though, so I can't tell you how to insert that particular message in that program.

There aren't any user-made ECW banks that I'm aware of but there are multiple versions of at least the 2MB and 4MB wavesets, as well as a test waveset that mapped every melodic patch to Grand Piano. I'll have to see if I can find the discs I backed all the files up on (total of 6 .ecw files) and pla...
Not aware of any laptops with anything better than basic onboard sound. I just use the Yamaha XG Softsynth on my Thinkpad. Best suggestion is to get an appropriate softsynth or an external USB soundcard (although again, not sure how many of those are going to do MIDI synthesis onboard rather than le...
Uo Poko (which has a quasi-sequel in the form of Mushihime-tama) is easily my favorite. Just among the Nintendo ones I'd have to say Tetris Attack/Panel de Pon and its variations.
