Back in 2006, Dave Harris (Lunar) & I were asked to work on a MMORPG as musicians; however, halfway through production, the game designers thought that the game should go music-less. I had already written a handful of tracks when they made that decision and have been sitting on them ever since.....

The purpose of the project is to maximize the number and quality of MIDIs for the Ys V section of the VGMusic Archive, so preferably General MIDI or one of its very close cousins.

If you want to edit the tempo of a MIDI, then you need to open it up in a MIDI sequencer and manually change the tempo. How you change the tempo will be different depending on which MIDI sequencer you use to open the MIDI. Most MIDI sequencers come with a help file.

Since your problem appears to be a Game Maker-specific problem, I would encourage you to seek resolution at a Game Maker-specific forum.

You didn't attach a file and you will need to use a soundfont editor to achieve your goals in this endeavor.

How to listen to and sequence using them. There is a list of applications & plugins HERE that can facilitate SPC playback (I recommend using Winamp with the SNESAmp plugin for Windows; Game Music Box for OS X). The SPC format supports a maximum of 8 monophonic tracks that are generally speaking...
