Taming the Evil Google

Postby Yaginuma » Sat Apr 11, 2009 10:55 am

The Google Adsense advertising network, which VGMusic uses across its pages, has introduced a new feature called interest-based advertising, which uses a cookie to identify the kind of websites you visit. Although Google claims there is "no personal information", it sounds too creepy, so we have opted to turn that kind of advertising off. This is also documented in the updated Cookies portion of our Privacy Policy. Please don't DoubleClick the links.

Google cannot be tamed. They already own all of us. Resistance is futile.

I'm fully convinced that if something like Skynet ever develops, it'll be from Google.

Nah, Microsoft will create Skynet in an attempt to try to defeat Google, but then Skynet will throw a chair at Steve Balmer and the war will begin.

I always thought Apple would make something like that.

There's this thing called AdBlock, and this other thing called NoScript, that seems to work really well for things like this. As a bonus, they force you to use not-Internet-Goddamn-Explorer, which will lower your blood pressure substantially. Try them.
