I just discovered this forum and this 'monthly' competition.

I wish to compete but after what I've been reading... I'm not sure if this is continuing.

Who organizes this and how many participants do you guys have and how many do you need?

AnthonyMorgan is the one running this one. However, this one is two months overdue... :(

Haha wow, this crashed and burned. What a shame.

In all honesty, I think this theme was a bit too far fetched, and with participation the way it is, it was doomed to failure. Anyways, as it goes, I don't see the forums getting much more life unless there is some serious change to the site. Which, won't likely happen, therefore we are doomed. At least we all usually interact with each other regularly in venues outside VGMusic. Between IRC, Soundcloud, 8bc, and Ubiktune, plus whatever else. I think the simple ties that were formed transcend this one site, and is probably why it still has the little life it does have.

I have a temptation to release my own MIDI, being one of the very few to get in an entry on time. :(

Oh well. We're slowly getting closer and closer to the proposed doomsday edition of Sample Pack Contest 8...

PENIS

I could take over the contest if everyone's OK with it. I'd give everyone an extra week, people could send their songs and votes to me. It's just a shame to see things stop like this.
Thank you,

Honestly, at this point, you are better off just starting a new one... for September.

Or, like it's been said, just focus on prepping for SPC: Doomsday edition.

Would it be OK for me to release my song, then? This is probably the one time that I actually got into making a more proper MIDI file... plus, it's the first Harmony Assisant tune that I have ever done in many years.

Actually I feel like posting my songs in here too. Many people have deserted the current theme. We can always start a new one!

Yeah. Maybe I'll give it another shot. I just recently got acquainted with TiMidity++, a soundfont-based MIDI player. On some of my MIDIs, it's actually done a lot better than Quicktime. :D

Yeah I think I just had a lot more difficulty with the theme than I thought I would, and given that it seemed kind of like it died I just didn't even bother.

If someone really wants to revive it though I'd be happy to participate!

Ya sorry; there's just a general lack of interest for that site (no one's working on it), and its forum, and its contests. Which is a shame because this place could be amazing.
That's a whole other subject which deserves a separate thread though.
Got 5 entries from 3 people; let me know if I should release them.
