That's a funny yet surprising quote. VG Music? Is an SPC is all about making VG Music ?? I don't think so. In fact, this contest is about composing new forms of instruments and music digitally. This is more than VG Music.

The way this contest is made is universally successful because of the freedom we have. we can use any sound.....in comparison to MIDI, this is a big difference.

Blitz Lunar, I have to say my humble thanks for creating this contest so far. This competition proves to me that music isn't dead nowadays(if you compare to what we hear on the radio) and the definition of music is always searching to expand himself. Thanks to you again Blitz! :D

I had to say this thought that I got when I did the SPC4. I realised that what we do in this contest is quite incredible. Keep on making this contest alive!

*end of speech*.................................*end of tears*

I totally agree with you. To me, the SPC contest doesn't have much to do with video game music (except for the fact that it's hosted on a site which is all about enjoying game music), it's about creating new music and exploring different sounds, and etc.
When I said "VG music musicians", I was really thinking "musicians from vgmusic.com". I then added "on the internet" for humor.
Just making myself clear on this.

Anyway, thanks Kulor and Lawrence for sending your samples. I'd just like to say that I'll be closing the sample submissions at 20:00 tomorrow, Monday 8th of March (London/England time). So there's still roughly 22 hours for people to submit their samples.

I would be down for the composition part with the samples. I would not be able to submit any samples though as I am working and will be tomorrow as well. This sounds like fun =)

I'm in for composition, but I doubt I'll have any time/means to get together some samples.

ah, not at all, but you're welcome. i can't take too much credit, it wasn't the most unique concept for a contest back when i did the first one, certainly it'd been done before. that and it's not just been me running them. but i'm glad it's appreciated nonetheless!

I agree with Anubis. Blitz Lunar has been helping me decide the rules and deadlines, and has helped me organize things for this contest, so I would also like to say thanks.

Anyway, in about an hour or so, I'll be releasing the samples. This is going to be an exciting musical contest, and I'm excited about releasing the samples. I'll update the main post when I do this of course.
