Started three songs, kinda lacking ideas for all of them. Or maybe it's more that I have too many ideas and I'm struggling to concentrate and stick to them. Eitherway, it could be going better. :[

still hoping to make 4 tunes anyway. gotta keep up tradition.

My entries have been completed. It was quite fun working with the samples this time. I decided to get things done early this time rather than waiting until the last minute.

I must say, I'm more than positive it's going to be an exiting contest this year, as now that it has been the 5th time, everyone is getting better at it, so the competition is tougher and the songs are all going to be much better. It's a challenge, but it's fun. I look forward to seeing what people came up with! I seriously just can't wait the month it's going to be until I get to see them.

Have fun on your songs guys.

Thanks! ^_^

This sample pack is a good challenge... I actually have to determine what drums are which and get somewhat creative. Well, my tune is guaranteed to be over one minute, that's for sure. I've already got a tune in the works that has over a minute's worth of music.

Update: 3 tunes submitted! :D

Think of it this way, the more time you spend perfecting it the better it'll come out in the end :D

This comes to exception with those who can pull out some amazing tunes out of thin air in a short amount of time.

That said, I forgot to reinstall my audio software on my laptop (not at home atm). Garrh.

via dusthillguy's recommendation i'm making one song with modplugtracker. i'm an idiot for not embracing it earlier. this is so liberating! it feels fun to compose again.

You can use wav samples in ModPlug Tracker?!?!
I thought it was only for sequencing 8-bit music...

Blitz Lunar, I'm happy that you're using modplug and enjoying it. I'm looking forward to hearing your songs, and everyone else's as well.

Anubis, you can indeed use wav samples in modplug tracker. I made all of my songs for last year's SPC in modplug tracker. If you don't remember which songs I made, they were "anos", "life and times of Dave Harris", "Swedish man crushes the communism", and "1831".
