Peach's Video Game Music on YouTube

Postby Peach » Tue Sep 21, 2010 1:39 am

Hello, everyone! It's been a long time since I've spoken with some of you, and I apologise for my years of absence from VGMusic in general. For those who don't know me, I used to be the Update Manager for the site in the late 1990s. Circumstances caused my participation to dwindle and eventually I wasn't really part of the VGMusic community anymore. Well, I am back in the chat room, and I hope to participate a little here, too! So, let's proceed with the topic....

I wish to share with you some quality video game songs, to which you can listen on my YouTube channel. Amongst the music pieces are sequences/transcriptions, remixes, and original compositions—all related to video games. Recently, I began to include enhanced versions of the old archived MIDIs I wrote. Here are some examples of what you'll find on my channel:

Shantae'esque (Original Composition)

Zelda'esque (Original Composition)

"Prelude Mix" from the Final Fantasy Series (WarioWare D.I.Y. Record)

"Sky Station" from Super Mario Mario Galaxy 2 (WarioWare D.I.Y. Record)

"Gruntilda's Lair" from Banjo-Kazooie (Enhanced Nintendo MIDI)

"Color Dungeon" from Zelda: Link's Awakening DX (Enhanced Nintendo MIDI)

"[Yoshi's] Tropical Island" from Mario Party (Enhanced Nintendo MIDI)

"Love is in the Air" from Yoshi's Story (Enhanced Nintendo MIDI)

"Go, Mario!" ~A 25th Anniversary Tribute~ from the Super Mario Series (WarioWare D.I.Y. Record)

"Timber's Island" ~Medley~ from Diddy Kong Racing (Enhanced Nintendo MIDI)

"Christmas in Kakariko Village" ~Remix~ from Zelda: A Link to the Past (Enhanced Nintendo MIDI)

"Treasure Trove Cove" ~Medley A~ from Banjo-Kazooie (Enhanced Game MIDI)

"Fury Volcano 1" from Super Princess Peach (Enhanced Game MIDI)

"Cranky's Christmas Mojo" ~Remix~ from Donkey Kong Country 3 (GBA)

"Cranky's Mojo" ~Remix~ from the Donkey Kong Country 3 OCReMix Album, "Double the Trouble!"

If you enjoy these, then you may enjoy others on my channel, so please visit! Thank you!

Thanks, Anthony! And congrats on being hired for something related to your guitar remixing/composition. I've been wanting something like that to happen for a while. XD

Question: Isn't the music from Color Dungeon one of the first Zelda songs? I hear it all the time but I can never remember exactly where it was first from. Was it in the first LoZ or something?

Yeah, it's the labyrinth theme for The Legend of Zelda, but there are some differences. The most noteworthy is the unique melody in the third cycle, which features only in LA DX.

A new Enhanced Nintendo MIDI is up! In the future, I should have new remixes and original compositions uploaded.

"[Yoshi's] Tropical Island" from Mario Party (Enhanced Nintendo MIDI)

Another new Enhanced Nintendo MIDI is available! Go, Mario Kart!

"Menu" from Mario Kart: Super Circuit (Enhanced Nintendo MIDI)

It sure is quiet here.... Yet another new Enhanced Nintendo MIDI went up on my channel, just today!

"Stolen Pearls" (Mermaid's Palace) from Donkey Kong 64 (Enhanced Nintendo MIDI)

These just keep coming, comments or not! I'm excited to present a classic MIDI from Zelda: Ocarina of Time!

"Kakariko Village" (Past/Child Link) from Zelda: Ocarina of Time (Enhanced Nintendo MIDI)

Thanks so much, Da Buzz! When others enjoy originals, it is pretty much the highest honour.

Next up is the song that plays in stage 3:2 (The Tall Tower) in Yoshi's Story. I'm rather pleased with the results of this one. An alternate version with just a cello lead could be provided, as well.

"Love is in the Air" from Yoshi's Story (Enhanced Nintendo MIDI)

Wow, nice job on the Tall Tower Midi! I love that song! I don't know what it was, but when I was playing Yoshi's Story for the first time and I got to that level, and heard that music, I just felt the most peaceful feeling ever. It feels like I want this song to be my life story! :D

Nice job enhancing it, the only thing I don't like it is the Pizzicato Strings, they are just... sound a little choppy.

Haha, we're pretty lazy around here when it comes to commenting on peoples stuff, sorry about that.

Thanks, The Ultimate Chimera! I'm glad that I'm touching on emotions here. I listened a couple times to both the original pizzicato strings and my rendition to compare and analyse quality just now. The transcription seems accurate and the sample is considerably better in the enhancement than in the original piece, so I'm not sure what you mean by choppy.

Here's a revised MIDI recording of the only song I sequenced from Zelda: Oracle of Ages when the game was new.

~REVISED~ "Ambi's Palace" from Zelda: Oracle of Ages (Enhanced Nintendo MIDI) ~REVISED~

EDIT: The link has been updated on Monday, around 11PM (PST) to provide a recording of a cleaner-sounding sequence. If you clicked the link prior to this time, please give the song another listen.

In celebration of the 25th Anniversary of Super Mario Bros., here is a familiar tune from an unusual game.

"Super Mario Bros. Theme" from Luigi's Mansion (Enhanced Nintendo MIDI)

It's time for a celebratory record of the 25th Anniversary of Super Mario Bros.. This sequence is a medley of several invincibility themes over the years, linked together in a remixed fashion.

"Go, Mario!" ~A 25th Anniversary Tribute~ from the Super Mario Series (WarioWare D.I.Y. Record)

Happy 25th Anniversary, Super Mario!

Here's my first Nintendo Enhanced MIDI medley. It's a compilation of the various renditions of overworld theme heard in Diddy Kong Racing.

"Timber's Island" ~Medley~ from Diddy Kong Racing (Enhanced Nintendo MIDI)

Merry Christmas, everyone! Here are some presents from me. These are all great, but if you have time for only one, I give my highest recommendation to "Christmas in Kakariko Village," which is a remastering of a MIDI remix I wrote around Christmas of 1998.

"[Peach's] Birthday Cake" from Mario Party (Enhanced Nintendo MIDI)

"Christmas in Kakariko Village" ~Remix~ from Zelda: A Link to the Past (Enhanced Nintendo MIDI)

"Jangle Bells" from Donkey Kong Country 3 (SNES) (WarioWare D.I.Y. Record)

Hey, everyone! It's been a long while. I apologise for that. I've been working on polishing the biggest MIDI I ever wrote in the past and accompanying it with a new logo inspired by the WarioWare D.I.Y. Records logo. So, for the first release of 2011, here is a Banjo-Kazooie medley of the second world.

"Treasure Trove Cove" ~Medley A~ from Banjo-Kazooie (Enhanced Game MIDI)

posting to say that the zelda-esque piece is pretty good! because no console zelda has ever used super-amazing synths, it fits in with the official content even better (sorry if that reads like a put-down). the trill effect in the first portion seems overused, but that's about all that's coming to mind critically atm.

Hey, thanks, OpaOpa. I'm glad when folks like my original works. Yeah; I had a bit too much "fun" with that flute riff. The MP3 actually sounds better than the YouTube video, so you could go on my site (www.designerpeach.com) to hear song at its best. Thanks for commenting!
